Solar Energy, are we doing the best of it?

The solar power is the most abundant resource we have in earth. Some scientists say that with only 01% of the solar´s energy could supply all of the Earth´s energy. The sun has produced energy for millions of years and naturally energizes all of the plants in the planet, these plants give the energy to animals and finally to human body thanks to a process known as photosynthesis. During the last decades, scientists have unlocked all of the processes that occur during photosynthesis and finally, they have developed technological machines that can do exactly the same process in order to produce energy from the Sun. But that is not all. They are saving this energy and transforming it into electric energy! That is what we know as solar energy now. But, are we doing the best of this energy? Do we really know how all of the advantages of using it? I don´t think so.

I think that we should stop destroying our planet using and paying for the energy that we have and start using solar energy everywhere in order to save the planet and the natural resources that we have been exploiting so far. It is well known that these resources (such as gas, oil, electricity, etcetera) are going to end very soon. But we keep on exploiting them as idiots that doesn´t know how to save the planet, even when have the possibility to make the best of the clean, free and endless energy that sun had always offered to us. That would be smart. If we install photovoltaic cells (better known as solar cells) in the roof of our houses and buildings or in the tremendous desert that we have in Chile, we would be being smart too and saving our planet and money! Stop paying for something that we can get from the sun for free and forever!
Now tell me, what do you think of the solar energy and the kind of energy that we have been using so far?

  1. I agree with you Nicolás. I strongly believe that solar energy IS the best way of obtaining energy nowadays. Think of our desert: it is inhospitable, and it is the best place where we can take energy from the sun, so it would be quite convenient to build a solar power station or something similar. But the reality is quite sad bacause many beautiful landscapes are being destroyed because of hydroelectric power stations.
