Warning: Stop reading this right now!

Do we spend too much time in the computer? And if we do, are there any mental problems we could develop for this? Recent studies have shown that there is a relationship between the time spent in the computer and some mental disorders, such as stress and depression.

Spending too much time in the computer can lead to leave a side other personal and more important activities like eating properly, interacting with others and sleeping. As we can see, this addiction is harmful and it may affect your mental health and later your physical health, if you think you’re having problems like those mentioned before you need to set some limits when using the computer. Women, I must warn you too; if you like video games try to play less than an hour a day because gaming more than an hour and a half seems to affect more to women and lead them to depression.

Keep in mind your mental health. If you are not having any of those disorder still be aware!

And now if you want to fin out more specific information about the illnesses or disorders due to computers I invite you to watch this excellent video with Doctor Solomon. Enjoy!

  1. Wow!!! Those are very strong claims.. particularly the one where you point out that women tend to fall into depression if they are hard core video gamers... any studies your classmates could check and that support your claim?

  2. Really interesting! I've also noticed that affects our sleeping habits and, obviously, our concentration. I think that use laptops or computers properly is good, but over-use them is not healthier at all as you said. Sometimes, we take this for granted, we are so use to using these technological devices that we forget the risks.
