My family and I are planning a huge summer vacation
that has been our dream since forever. Our trip is supposed to be 14.000 kms to
the north-east of the world. And ever since it is absolutely sure that our vacations
start on February 1st, I have been surfing on the internet for hours
looking for information that will make this experience easier.
Last month my mom was complaining about all the
hours that we will have to spend on an airplane. It was then when I realized
how lucky we are for having airplanes and buses and trains. My mother was only thinking
on how boring was going to be fly over the Atlantic “without my ‘crochet’ for
14 hours!” And I thought that when our ancestors
arrived to this country they did it by ship and the trip lasted from 2 to 3
MONTHS. In 1800 cars didn't exist and it took days to travel from one city to
another.
In my opinion we don’t appreciate enough what
we have and we should be grateful for all the advances and all the technology
that we have and stop complaining on daily things that just 50 or 80 years ago
were unthinkable.
