Being polite during movies, now more than just manners.

When you are seeing a films at the movies, how many times do you hear someone asking for silence? Or People who is texting through their cellphones making you lose the attention on the movie? Well, for all that people that earn our hate every time they make us miss the climax of the movie, the reason to finally be polite has arrived: Cinemark – a major operator of cine theaters – has created a new app for iPhone: CineMode, it will encourage “mobile phone addicts” to stop clicking the Send button on their smartphones in order to reward them with movie coupons if they maintain quiet during the movie.

But, how does it work? Really simple, just before the film starts a message is displayed on the screen that will remember users to turn on the app on their smartphones, and will also show the rules which users have to follow in order to gain the coupons: put their phones on vibrate mode and avoid texting or calling when the movie is still being played (the app will detect if the user doesn’t follow the rules).

I don’t know about you, but a really think that this is a perfect example of how an industry can develop creative ideas in order to ensure the comfort of their clients. Cinemark was able to use smartphones tech to stop the use of smartphones, in this case, during a film being presented in a theater.

Do you know any other example of a good app that has being developed recently? What are your favorite apps?

Life is not a movie or is it?

It can't be denied that movies are part of our lifes, movies are useful to have a good time with friends, to make us feel emotions through them and even to inspire us, not only emotionally, but also technologically. We can say that the seventh art has been a technological oracle, this is because many technological devices have emerged after their appearance in films, among which we can mention the following:

 1. Back to the Future - The legendary sneakers that adjust themselves were created by Nike, you just have to put your foot inside them and they will tie and adjust instantly.

2. Minority Report -  In this futuristic film we can observe Tom Cruise seeing a future crime while he is using a screen which he doesn't touch. the prediction of the crime is still impossible, but nowadays thanks to Kinect of Microsoft and to a Pc it can be possible to manage programmes just by making specific gestures.
3. Star Wars - The holographic message that princess leia send to Obi wan is now possible  because scientists have discovered how to paralyze the light, which is the main step to create holograms, so maybe in a near future our messages will be sent by holographic images.

 4. Harry Potter - The newspaper with talking images that exists in Harry Potter's world is about to be part of ours too. This technological advance will be use for 90-seconds advertisements on the pages of the US Magazine Entertainment Weekly.

Sometimes it seems that there is nothing that technology couldn't do, all these inventions were just part of the imagination some years ago, but now they are here and we don't have to be a character from a movie to enjoy them.
There is any technological device present in movies that you would like to see in real life?

5 things that, strangely, make people happy

Happiness is a state of mind that all human beings want to reach. Nowadays, it has become one of the most successful businesses in the recent years. Books, drugs, therapies, magazines, courses, etc., are part of the paraphernalia that surrounds happiness. There are certain activities that are known that they are "bad" for humans, can, paradoxically, improve quality of life.

Yesterday, I read in an article that there are five things that are weird, but make people happy and I want to share them with you.

1. To watch a sad movie.

According to a studio, the brains of the people who watch a movie where there is a lot of drama in it, unconsciously, compares their own lives with the character’s lives, and realized that their lives are fine. They start to see life in a different way. For instance, Million Dollar Babby.

2. Eating red meat.
Australian scientists did a study that analyzed the eating habits of a thousand women. Those who ate the recommended amount of red meat reported higher levels of optimism compared to those who consumed less or nothing. This is because high levels of Omega-3 that this food has. Red meat improves due mood and prevents various mental illnesses such as depression and senile dementia.

3. Fighting.

In a study, scientists experimented with mice the relationship between aggression and happiness. For this, they placed one female and one male mouse in a cage. Time after cohabitation, the scientists replaced the female by a male intruder. After several minutes, the intruder began attacking. After several repetitions, the researchers injected the male mouse a suppressor of dopamine. A few minutes later, the mouse decided to move away and began to have peace-related behaviors, while the intruder is noticed more agitated, or what could be translated in other words, more "happy", product of dopamine, also called "hormone of happiness".

4. Traveling by subway.
Researchers in Sweden recruited a group of volunteers for a study that in which they would have to travel by subway several times a month. At the beginning of the research, participants were asked about their mood and emotional. As the investigation progressed, scientists were collecting data on happiness. When the study finishes, volunteers reported higher levels of happiness compared to the first records. According to scientists, this is because the routine vary or breaking is favorable for sanity.

5. Thinking about death.

According to a study conducted near to a cemetery and the surrounding streets, a man pretending to throw their belongings. The number of people who were walking near the cemetery and helped the man to pick up his things, was higher compared to those traveling along streets near the cemetery. This is because, unconsciously, death sensitizes people about feelings related to charity and the common good.

I consider this amazing, because I never thought that these five actions could make people happy. Where do you think you can find happiness? Do you think that you could find it in doing these five things?
