It’s quite common to attribute the word “technology”
to modern or even futuristic things, but we know now that technology is
everything that has been created artificially by the man; from the most
powerful super computers to a simple spoon.
I realize, when watching my room, that technology
is all around us and this is how it has always been and always will be. Because
the capability of man to create new things is what make us human. “Technology
and human progress go together” That is what some people may think, but are we
progressing? Is the society moving forward or devolving? Yes, it’s true that we
are more advanced in a matter of technology than ever before, but the cost is
too high; we are depleting our natural resources and polluting the world as we
move forward in time, we merely concern about the drinkable water we've left
and our natural lung, the Amazon, is going through an unstoppable process of
deforestation. (I don't even think you need links to information on that)
It’s time for us to change the way we see
progress! Maybe more machinery and digital devices are not the solution. We
need to take care of our planet and simplify the way we live; we need to change
the focuses of economy, politic and technology to let this amazing world we
call home heal! If we don’t…well, we can say good bye to electricity and harvesting
our own food will not be a choice. What do you think blogger?
I agree with you. I strongly believe that technology makes our lives easier, but, in the other hand, destroy little by little the planet. Most people think that having good and advanced technology is a lot of improvement and development for our country; however, our planet is let behind. Technology is not the most important thing of life. I could perfectly live without it, but I could not live without water, trees, animals. I think that the cost that our society and earth are paying is definetively too high.
ReplyDeleteI algo agree with you, Daniel. In my opinion, we should care more about our planet and our nature because without it we wouldn't exist. YEs, it is true that our technology is making our lives easier, but we are up in a point where we are using the technology to repair the damage that we all created during these past centuries. It is time to change our concepion of life and to start loving our nature as much as we love our lives!
